Today, The Guardhouse has been revitalized as a cultural hub, attracting artists from around the globe. Launched by FOR-SITE in 2023, The Guardhouse Program invites three artists each year to activate this former military guard station.


This unique program has already showcased the works of several acclaimed artists, including Kija Lucas and the duo of Judith Selby Lang & Richard Lang. Their installations have breathed new life into this historic space, making it a must-visit location for art enthusiasts.


Located just feet away from Marina Boulevard and the popular Bay Trail, The Guardhouse enjoys incredible visibility and foot traffic. It serves as a testament to the transformative power of art and history, providing a platform for artistic expression while paying homage to its military past.
